Ghost Adventures – Clovis Wolfe Manor
Zak and team head to the Clovis Wolfe Manor in California which some of the residents claim is a "black hole" of dark energy. It was once a stately manor but when the family hit on hard times the house was taken over and converted into a sanatorium. Like many others of it’s time, it had the best of intentions in helping patients, but in reality it served to cram them into rooms, chain them to the floor and toilets and neglect them to the point of festering sores. As you would expect, many of the patients died from this abuse. There are even reports of patients turning on each other and two murders are documented as having occurred there.
Right from the beginning the EMF meter spikes and the group claims to hear voices, especially one of a little girl. The claims of the paranormal are pretty widespread and varied. Voices, footsteps, shuffling feet, people being tugged, hair being pulled and even one worker who claims to have been pulled back into a crawlspace and another who thinks the spirits might have tried to push him down the stairs have all supposedly taken place here.
So what evidence did they find? They claim to have recorded multiple EVPs not the least of which was the "want … your energy …" We know it’s important because it consumes half the screen for several seconds as Zak tells us so. It’s an interesting claim but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. As always, I’m not even sure that’s what it says.
Zak claims to have quite an experience in the crawlspace where he hears this voice and then feels fingers around his neck as he trying to get out; very similar to the experience felt by one of the workers who was tugged by the ankles. (Hey, you asked for that one, don’t freak out).
But the big news for this investigation was the new ultraviolet camera they brought in which allows them to see different parts of the light spectrum. They tried it out in the basement of the house after Zak hears "want your energy" and feels the hands around his neck. With the rapid-fire switching back and forth between cameras it’s a little hard to tell what’s going on, but they claim a purple mist enters the room and spreads itself over the floor where the voice recorder is. Also, it takes a position on the couch for a short while before heading out of the room.
It’s interesting stuff, but since this a brand new piece of technology with no benchmark as to how a room should look under normal conditions and what kind of things they should ignore I can’t get too excited over it. Maybe this does open a window to see spirit energy, or perhaps it’s just another way of looking at car lights or drafts. It’ll be interesting to see if this camera makes it’s way into more episodes. Since this is probably the end of the season (GA usually does just 8 episodes a season) we’ll have to wait and see what they do with it.
Once again a sad and fascinating location where good intentions go bad and the tales of patient abuse extend through the decades. Haunted or not, the people who live in Clovis hang rosaries and crosses on the gates of the property to try and offer peace and comfort. The owner and those who visit feel the place is alive with the energy of the past.
So, that purple mist in the basement, conclusive evidence of the paranormal? And did Zak have some hands around his neck as he tried to get out of the crawlspace?

Ghost Adventures – Prospect Place
Whenever you have a location that has anything to do with slavery and the Underground Railroad there is bound to be death and negative energy. Prospect Place was a stop on the Underground Railroad where the wealthy landowner George Adams did his part to help the slaves. Many of the slaves they took in were too weak or ill to make it the rest of the journey and they passed away at the house. There is a claim a bounty hunter came to take away the slaves and turn George in, but he was driven off by George himself and farm hands. Legend has it that the farm hands followed the bounty hunter back to his camp, abducted him and hung him in the barn.
More deaths occurred when a train crashed a few miles from the homestead and the injured were brought to the house as it was turned into a makeshift hospital. Quite a few never recovered from their injuries. Hospital becomes morgue.
The Adams family is said to have had their own tragedies such as a child falling to her death from a balcony. Her body was stored in the basement until the ground thawed and she could have a proper burial. One family member is rumored to have simply disappeared one day. Eventually the family fell on hard times and during the late 60-80s the house was abandoned. During this time Satanic cults took over and practiced their craft inside. It is believed they held rituals and summoned demons to the mansion.
There’s lots of claims of shadows and apparitions and those interviewed claim they see something odd just about every day.
As far as captured activity goes there really isn’t a whole lot. They feel they capture a few voices and even a spirit laughing when Zak stumbles into a chair in the dark. Zak claims to feel a lot of energy when he’s in the barn where the bounty hunter was supposedly hung. It’s interesting that Zak and Nick take some time out to specifically address the issue of orbs versus dust. They explain they are well aware of the difference and that what they’re seeing is definitely not dust.
Aaron gets his usual feelings of being dizzy and nauseous. There is no outright moment of panic, but they say they’re feeling the tension of the past and cold, dark energy when in the room that the Satanic worship is supposed to have taken place in.
There is no doubt there has been some turmoil on the property with plenty of confirmed deaths. Are the spirits of the old South rising up? The eyewitness accounts certainly say it is, but it’s hard to say if the evidence supports it.

Ghost Adventures – Execution Rocks Lighthouse
Haunted lighthouse! Cool! And this one has a pretty nasty past. According to historians the foundation for the lighthouse was used as a method of torture. People were drowned by being tied down to the rocks at low tide and left there as the tide waters rose again. The British did this very frequently and would leave the remains of the dead lashed to the rocks. How very pirate-esque.
The British weren’t the only ones leaving bodies about the place, Carl Panzram a serial killer, apparently would kill his victims and then dump their bodies on the rocks. This place already has tons of death and destruction and pretty much none of it has to do with shipwrecks.
There are personal experiences which include one person saying they were held down by a force. As Zak is getting the tour, Goofy Aaron gets sunscreen in his eyes so he’s filming with his eyes closed. It looks quite odd actually. At first you think he’s possessed. There is some downtime before the investigation begins and we get a rare glimpse of the guys away from the show. The Nevada boys fishing off the rocks is just hilarious. I’m surprised these goofs didn’t fall in. And seriously, Zak almost had that fish! I love the cookout though. It looks like they were having a blast cooking burgers and hanging out by the water at the lighthouse.
When they do get down to business, out comes those damned goggles with the word database. It does say some interesting things, but it’s hard to say it’s not just random. They make a pretty big leap saying the words they’re getting might be linked to a murder or suicide. It’s an interesting thought, but you need more than the word "mercury" to make that idea pan out.
In the end there’s not a whole lot of evidence on this one, but it’s a pretty cool place and if the history is correct some really nasty things took place there. Kind of kills the romance of the lighthouse and it’s keeper living in peaceful solitude, watching over the seas and gazing at sunsets. It’s probably the first time they’ve actually come out and said a place probably wasn’t haunted.

Ghost Adventures – Washoe Club and Chollar Mine
For this episode the team heads back to the place where they did their first investigation and documentary. It’s also the site where they claim to have captured a full bodied apparition. It’s been five years and it seems the spirits are calling them back, literally.
Things start off with Mark and Debby (raccoon eyes) Constantino who have a slew of recordings which they feel are talking directly to Zak, Nick and Aaron. They claim the voices are saying Zak is coming back, they hate Nick and that the spirits are scared of them. The voices are all but daring the guys to step inside and investigate again.
As I always say, I hear something in those recordings but I’m not firmly convinced we’re hearing the same thing. The sounds I hear don’t really match the words they show. Sure, it would be neat to think you’re being called out by a spirit, but are you 100% positive that’s what you recorded? Difference of opinion I suppose.
The big evidence and reason for going is the full bodied apparition. They show it a few times and it does look like something is moving across the screen. It’s not definitive, but it is interesting.
The first part of the lockdown takes place in the Chollar mine where they almost asphyxiate themselves because they turned off the circulating air vent. And of course Aaron damn near knocks himself out as soon as he enters the mine by bashing his head into a support beam. The black widow spiders give him a bit of a scare as well. He was about to dig his own escape tunnel!
Out comes the voice box and it supposedly records the words "Frank", "stair" and "fell through". Interesting choice of words based on their location, but is there really anything to it? Other than being light headed that’s about all they captured in the mine. They got some random sounds which they feel is the sound of miners still working. Hard to say where those noises are coming from. Could be water dripping, could be wood creaking, could be other settling type noises.
Next up is the Silver Queen where they captured their apparition. They get some phantom smells which might as easily be coming from the wood of the place; odors do linger. With recorders going they claim to get dozens of EVPs. They even bring Mark and Debby back in for an hour to help grab some more spirit voices. Once again, it does sound like there are noises on the recorder, but it’s hard to agree with their interpretation. I don’t hear fully articulated words. They certainly feel it’s a full conversation, but it doesn’t sound like too much to me.
They capture what they say is another apparition. There does appear to be movement on the screen, but it’s not real clear or definitive. It’s certainly not as clearly defined as their original recording. Trick of light? Camera focusing in an usual way? Or is something really moving?
For all the name calling and the spirits calling Zak and Nick out, I don’t really think a whole lot happened. They feel they have dozens of recordings of the spirits and another apparition moving about the place. Something was captured, but what that really is, who knows. I was more amused to see their fashion sense of 5 years ago.
